SmCo RARE EARTH MAGNET

The mixture between metal is 1:5 in atom ratio as Samarium (Sm) : Cobalt (Co) in magnetic material of mixture between rare earth element and cobalt base metal has superior magnetic characteristic was discovered in 1967 and it becomes the start of 1-5 affiliation SmCo magnet. After 1997, permanent magnet, BHmax=30~33 MGOe as a mixture of Sm2Co17 is developed and commercialized.

Characteristic

Highest curie temperature among rare earth magnets. / High stability for temperature. Strong corrosion (Possible to use without surface treatment). Difficult in processing and expensive due to Co metal.

Usage

Use in poor environment condition such as high temperature situation such as welding, special motor, etc.
